ISWS funding continued to finance a local social worker as a leader for a virtual support group that includes 11 mothers in the Food Service Delivery (FSD) Program. Each support group session typically lasts two hours. Topics discussed may be issues such as:
- Single motherhood
- Business/entrepreneurship
- Stress management
- Coping with anxiety/depression
- How to ask for help
- Sharing personal stories/processing
- Healthy lifestyle choices, i.e., sleep, diet, self-care, goal-setting, and emotional support/community building
The addition of this social worker has had the immediate benefit of giving the FSD women a dedicated point person to support them in their businesses and psychosocial care needs. The creation of this position ensured the FSD women have the support they need to be successful./scroll-box]
