The main goal of this project has been to examine and analyze survey and questionnaire responses from a cohort of 150 Type 1 diabetes beneficiaries of the Marjorie’s Fund clinic located in Kasese, Uganda. The ISWS team of Maura Wenk, MSW, and Kaylee Strombo, Bachelor of Social Work student has focused on data entry and analysis, studying trends of A1C improvement over time as well as looking at the correlation of the number of clinic visits, higher income, and the frequency of glucose testing with better health outcomes. The team is also looking at how Covid-19 has affected healthcare in this region and the diabetes population specifically. Finally, the project will conclude with recommendations for a more streamlined and comprehensive questionnaire for future data collection and use.
